There is a lot more talk here ( UK ) of leaving the EU. This would affect the GBP, but more so in the future. At the mo seems like little change. The Govt is boasting of paying off a quarter of the debt already. The Euro is in big trouble long term. The Germans are at the centre of the storm and don't seem to like it too much. Damned if they do and damned if they don't.

  3. hey Humpy, do you live in the city or out in the country?

All we see is pictures on TV. It is very baffeling to us who are use to thousands of acres. England seems so small.

I see pictures of the city, and it looks so ugly.

Then I see pictures of the English country side, and it looks like a hobbit paradise. Lush fields of grass with sheep and cattle, and small towns where everybody knows each other, and pubs with dark beer.

Same here, All I ever saw on TV was New York City. But when I saw pictures of the towns and neighborhoods getting destroyed by the storm, they were just places like any other place on earth.

So what's it like there in England? Is it the evil city or the beautiful countryside?

  4. most likely, the rich have a city place and a country place and the poor just get along as best as they can.

I live near the sea and have a river view from my house.
There is a small town across the river and I keep out of cities as much as possible. Probably much the same as yours with similiar problems. The cops take a tough line against knife or handgun carriers.I don't know what the statistics are for say murders per 100.000 people. Figures from a few years ago quoted 88 in Washington DC. I expect it is a lot less here.

Jobs are hard to find but I am retired so I don't want one anyway.Trading is just a game for me luckily as long as I don't do anything too daft. I need little and risk little.

We have got lots of history unlike you. There are plenty of ancient castles, villages with a pub etc. Even Roman ruins from 2,000 years ago.

  6. yeah, same here, trading is just for fun and profit. Sounds nice. But I like having an English enemy, and you make a good one. The one thing we can agree on is those Romans, and if those 2000 year old ruins deteriorate this year, it won't be soon enough for me.

I hate to point out the obvious OT but we ( UK ) are your allies. The enemy are the terrorists unless you have changed sides.
Strange things are happening it seems to me when The Secretary of State is actively supporting Jihadi terrorist groups in the Middle East. All of a sudden they have Stinger missiles etc. Now guess who supplied them ? Dumping old friends but not making any new ones. Nobody ever accused the US of being rational.

Oh and we don't agree on those Romans. They brought the beginnings of civilization to Europe and beyond.

I would appreciate if the posters can post about eur/usd on this thread - trading ideas, set ups, charts etc. Other topics may be interesting, but I'm sure there are lot of forums and threads for that. Also you can use private messaging if you wish.:)

  10. aint that just like you Redcoats. We saved your ass in WWII and now you are critisizing us. Just remember, we beat you in 1776 and again in 1812 and will do it again if you ever get in our way.

and furthermore, everything you have to offer the world was in spite of the Romans. We already know what the Romans were like, we are one and the same. England still represents what life might have been like if we hadn't destoyed it (you have to kind of pick through facts and only accept the ones that support your argument.)
