I think XRP can test it's peak and maybe go to 40. These 3 cryptos are clearly long term bullish at this point in time and will outperform any equities portfolio.

XRP represents the smallest percentage of my portfolio but I'm getting very itchy to increase my stake. Many top, respected and usually quite conservative banks are in production phase with Ripple and I think that's a very big signal of it's investment potential. The CME is one of its major investors as well.

There ARE rules in my threads jacko. Kindly fuck off, if you can't follow them.

You asked for intelligent and on topic discussions? I asked for them first. :)

Now to make this post actually on topic, here is a quite technical discussion from Reddit just why Bitcoin is so slow to change:

    https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/6eaior/a_personal_note_to_the_bitcoin_community/

I will quote the best post of it:

">>It does not matter who played a role in this, or why. ...

Agree that the who doesn't matter. The why on the other hand matters a lot because the outcome may not be as avoidable as it might appear.

Very few users are comfortable entertaining the idea that Bitcoin's serviceable period has expired. The protocol outlined in Satoshi's white paper bestows economic incentives on rule-enforcers and extracts penalties on rule breakers. These incentives can be bypassed when the network is small and the value it represents low. But a very different beast emerges at the end of 7 years of continuous operation and relentless exchange rate growth. That network will fight change relentlessly whatever its source and however well-intentioned.

Moreover, Bitcoin's governance model has evolved in a direction that has become ever less compatible with major protocol changes. Bitcoin was established as a Benevolent Dictatorship under Satoshi. Under his successor, more participants began to have a say in project direction. The block size limit question prompted a short-lived revival of Benevolent Dictator model, which backfired. Half a dozen or so competing implementations now run on the network, reducing the influence once enjoyed by the "Core Developer" role. Alternatives to Bitcoin have very rapidly risen to prominence. Each new entrant goes places that look ever more out of reach for Bitcoin.

This is decentralization. It means massive effort will be required to get your way. It means you're probably going to end up disappointed with how slowly things change."

Makes it hard to think Ripple would fail w/so much money behind it, though this last week has not been kind to it. It also makes me wonder about the sustainability of crypto. It seems no matter how many bone-headed moves I do, I soon make up for it, and it makes me apprehensive about an investment where you can't go wrong, and everyone is raking money. It also makes me regret not getting into it 5 year sooner.

Anyone w/similar doubts? We're far past the early adopter stages (at least w/BTC) so how sustainable is growth for everyone (which seems to be the case)<<I am not some wizard at investing and it seems like I can't go wrong no matter what I do.

Don't get me wrong, I'll ride it as far as I can but these questions do come up.

I wish ETH had more fungible coins too so I could cycle through them as I do w/BTC pairs.

The market was kind, it just needed to come back to Earth after going up 10,000% in a single rally.

I caught the XRP reversal @ .22, traders were waiting a long time for that.

It's never too late to jump inboard, I only started "investing" in cryptocurrencies last 2 weeks.

But my mum's basement is so nice, I mean where else would I take your mother after a night out at the local pub to shag her? Hey, you need to get your trading capital from somewhere right? Here's a pound, go buy back the other 90% of your intellect.

Nothing like a commentator that thinks that they can price a crypto because it's a "currency". LOL

My personal bet is on ETH, has been and still is. ETH is the crude oil behind Ethereum. The way Ethereum is setup lends itself to a high value in ETH.

I like what Ripple is doing, but I have not seen any evidence that XRP shouldn't be worth more than a few cents. My research indicates the tech behind it doesn't need XRP at a high value in order to transact.

BTC is still the granddaddy and as long as we are in a crypto bull market, just by the dips.

You can't look at it like number of coins multiplied by current value. Market cap is an imaginary number anyway, but specially for cryptos. Consider this:

If I premine my own Pekicoin, and I have 10 billion coins on my laptop then I sell 1 coin for a dollar to my friend (so Pekicoin has 10 billion bucks market cap), that doesn't mean Pekicoin had 10 billion dollars flowing in. So there is simple no good way of accounting for actual money flowing into a crypto. (if someone knows a way, let me know) Maybe the buying of actual new coins would do such a thing, but that is hard to track.

So just because a shitload of Ripple have been premined that doesn't mean that it carries actual weight or importance among cryptos.
