Bubbles easily collapse to the half of ATH, so 3000/2, before a significant bounce. Now we have the added insecurity over updating a "working" system while it is ON.

In my opinion Ripple is useless. A bank can have their own native currency to transfer funds. If anything its an over-hyped penny crypto that will eventually fall apart. Even when you look at their technology its nothing spectacular, they rebranded just like any other useless coin. Eventually the hype train will die.

Well Ether is by far the best, its has the most functionality. As far as altcoins go, I've seen a fair bit of promising ones but nothing that has caught my eye where I would invest a fair amount into. There is a lot of trash out there that resemble OTC penny stocks to me.

Some Bitcoin Backers Are Defecting to Create a Rival Currency
    https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/25/business/dealbook/bitcoin-cash-split.html

SAN FRANCISCO — For the last two years, rival factions have been vying for control of the Bitcoin virtual currency and its global network of computers and supporters.

Now, one of the main camps is preparing to break off and create a competing version of Bitcoin.

A group of investors and entrepreneurs, most of them based in Asia, have announced a plan to create what they are calling Bitcoin Cash, starting next week.

The plan would seal a divorce between opponents in a long-simmering feud over what Bitcoin should be — and lead to two competing virtual currencies going by the name of Bitcoin.

“I actually think it would be a good thing if there is a split,” said Roger Ver, a Tokyo-based investor who voiced his preliminary support for Bitcoin Cash on Tuesday.

He said the differences among the different camps had quite likely grown too stark for them to move forward together.

  10. Bitcoin Cash will probably wind up be an alt coin like Ethererum Classic that's not supported by all exchanges. Bitcoin Cash is actually trading around $400 right now but the problem is whether there's enough hashing power behind this new chain.
