SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- E-Trade Financial Corp. said late Friday Chief Financial Officer Robert Simmons will resign on or before May 9. The New York-based financial firm named Matthew Audette, the company's controller and an executive vice president, as acting CFO while it seeks a permanent replacement for Simmons. E-Trade said General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Arlen Gelbard also resigned earlier this week. http://www.marketwatch.com/news/sto...x?guid={1C775F77-7D74-4DA6-83B4-0F26149DE9B1}
Not just the CFO, but General Counsel, too. The resignation of the General Counsel (lead corporate attorney) is particularly worrisome, as it seemed to be a 'noisy' one. I think it's not at all outside the realm of possibility if not probability that something is seriously amiss at ETFC, and we'll all find out soon what that 'something' is.
