  1. SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- E-Trade Financial Corp. said late Friday Chief Financial Officer Robert Simmons will resign on or before May 9. The New York-based financial firm named Matthew Audette, the company's controller and an executive vice president, as acting CFO while it seeks a permanent replacement for Simmons. E-Trade said General Counsel and Corporate Secretary Arlen Gelbard also resigned earlier this week.

  2. amazing. Make a little mistake, 4 5 bb or so, and out the door.

    Is there no loyalty anymore.:(

  3. Something sinister is happening at ETFC when the CFO jumps ship...

  4. Not just the CFO, but General Counsel, too.

The resignation of the General Counsel (lead corporate attorney) is particularly worrisome, as it seemed to be a 'noisy' one.

I think it's not at all outside the realm of possibility if not probability that something is seriously amiss at ETFC, and we'll all find out soon what that 'something' is.
