ETCs on the LSE

Discussion in 'Index Futures' started by nighttripper, Jan 6, 2007.

  1. Does anyone know what the tax treatment of the new Exchange Traded Commodities will be. They are zero coupon notes not futures so I am assuming they will be taxed as equity/bonds. Also, they trade in dollars so I am assuming any tax liability would be in USD to the British Government?

  2. Has anyone actually traded ETCs on the London Stock Exchange? If so, what is the liquidity ? I noticed that there are very few trades with some of them, there were even days when they were not traded... Anyway if anyone has traded, or is willing to trade, can you recommend a broker that deals in ETCs ?

  3. On the other hand, London market makers in the ETCs quote them even when the corresponding futures contract is limit-bid or offered :)
