Yannis is right we need to get back to the good ol days of GW and preemptive wars, torture and let's not forget that well oiled machine that was the republican controlled congress, the financial meltdown, massive unemployement, huge recession, tens of thousands of lives lost and thousands of American soldiers killed and wounded in needless war. Yeah let's get back to the good ol days.
No, I'm talking about the good old days when real Americans stood up for their ideals and defended our country, without vengeance in their heart, killing what's bad in the enemy camps and freeing the bloody dictators' prisoners: the common people in Afghanistan and Iraq. And as a result, those countries are free (or close to it, much closer they've been for ever) and we Americans are all alive and well today, be thankful. Those were the days when the mess we inherited from the Clinton cheating/lying/screwing (and geting impeached/disbarred) days was handled well... And on top of that, the devastation of 9/11 was turned around... Millions of jobs were created, the economy blossomed and the market (which had collapsed as a result of the abuses of the Clinton regime) was skyrocketing. UNTIL, the Dems, lying all over the place and using their puppets and puppetmasters, the liberal media, took over control of Congress in 2006... THEN, all hell broke loose, as Barney Frank and his Acorn buddies force-fed mortgages to millions who couldn't afford them... Giving the fodder to the Wall Street crooks (same ones who supported Obama massively in 2008) to pull the whole economy down. And the economy is still down, with 10-20% unemployment (depending on how you count) and $trillions in fresh debt... It's not coming back until the Conservatives take back the Congress in a few months (hopefully) and fix things. Got it? Of course, what would you know, you live in Syria, right? Oh well...
I'm all Texan Yanis. What ever it is your drinking or smoking it must be some good shit. That was a wild fairy tale there. That was a damn good story though, did you make it up yourself. Gotta go do some bill collecting so I can pay more taxes to pay for the republican screw ups.
As the late Adrian Rogers said, "you cannot multiply wealth by dividing it." An economics professor at a local college made a statement that he had never failed a single student before, but had once failed an entire class. That class had insisted that Obama's socialism worked and that no one would be poor and no one would be rich, a great equalizer. The professor then said, "OK, we will have an experiment in this class on Obama's plan". All grades would be averaged and everyone would receive the same grade so no one would fail and no one would receive an A... After the first test, the grades were averaged and everyone got a B. The students who studied hard were upset and the students who studied little were happy. As the second test rolled around, the students who studied little had studied even less and the ones who studied hard decided they wanted a free ride too so they studied little. The second test average was a D! No one was happy. When the 3rd test rolled around, the average was an F. As the tests proceeded, the scores never increased as bickering, blame and name-calling all resulted in hard feelings and no one would study for the benefit of anyone else. All failed, to their great surprise, and the professor told them that socialism would also ultimately fail because when the reward is great, the effort to succeed is great but when government takes all the reward away, no one will try or want to succeed. Could not be any simpler than that. Remember, there is a test coming up. The mid-term election in 2010!
These are possibly the 5 best sentences you'll ever read: 1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity by legislating the wealthy out of prosperity. 2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. 3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else. 4. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that, my dear friend, is the beginning of the end of any nation. 5. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
