ET gone to the dogs

  1. The two I filtered out had absolutely nothing to do with trading.

i feel similarly about this subject
but it is up to you if you want to enjoy it or not
it does take a large amount of effort to post anything good and also not easy to explain to others who generally misunderstand.
but overall it is a rewarding experience but ultimately it depends on what you want.I want to connect to serious traders whatever the level of their competence.

  3. Why should it. It caters to the gutter already and it appears to work great. Draw right wing supremacists to your Politics threads and the white boys will take care of the rest.

I agree with many of the comments which gave you an absolutely accurate picture - trading is a solitary art and once you are successful you will be among the few. The crowd is always greater, especially in the transcendental business of trading. As for me - I am new on this blog and it is our first blog in life. We came here in search of help in our ferocious battle with white collar criminals and at first found a lot of misunderstanding, even harsh comments, but what was really precious - we found also strong defense, attention, and support! Not only - I am so thankful to this site, to those new contacts and friends who signed for us, the beautiful forums and discussions. I feel so inspired and supported as never before. Only one thing I certainly regret - not participating before in any blog, even if I knew BigMike for years. I tried one other blog, where people seemed to be at a higher level of professional and was banished right away as soon as I started to speak the truth about Suisse banks and our experience with them. So, I do believe there are many blogs sponsored by Mainstream just to prepare the sheep meat for Wall Street and Banksters in general. Here there is sincerity, there are real traders and those who have sincerely devoted themselves to master this science-art. I am eternally thankful to have met these great souls. Sorry for you, being as to so blind to not see this, being delusional... it is like constantly changing your system or instruments or markets... Well, everyone is free to make mistakes. Be well, goodbye.

    straight from the heart.
it is not a mistake, if it does not suit him any purpose, to be here.
i do not believe that the big manipulate the market but they are are not here to do charitable deeds:they are there to trade the market, like all of us.

  6. I am VERY grateful for the answers you and others have provided, but people like yourself are starting to post less frequently and newbies are starting to start way to many threads asking the most basic questions. I enjoyed reading the discussions between pros, and it looks like that is starting to vanish. Didnt mean to come off so sour, I was a few drinks deep last night

Very simple. Protect industry professionals -- especially real-name -- from relentless trolling and flaming.

I mean, it's a trader forum. You'll get all level ranges from noobs to seasoned veterans. I'm sure some of my questions come off very noobish. Would it be better for me to go ask them on Quora or Yahoo! Answers?

If it's a noob question simply avoid it and find the threads that suit you. It's not like threads in each sub forum are appearing at such an alarming rate that the good threads are being slid out of existence. The search bar also gives you the ability to find every thread you might need on any trading subject, Granted the noobs could use that before they ask their questions, but look at it this way, increased population of noobs increases search visibility which will lead to more seasoned veterans finding ET to help in the future.

I doubt there's a free trading forum out there with nothing but seasoned veterans giving out the secrets to immortality. I also doubt ET was ever meant to cater to one level of trading expertise.

FWIW I do try and post charts of specific stocks I find in stock screenings and mark up with TA for potential trade/ investment for others to look at and judge if it fits their idea of a good trade. I would welcome any critique, but I do it to try and give back to all those who have freely given to me when I've needed advice, even if it [my chart] ends up not being worth 2 cents.

Having been here a while, I stay to give back to those coming along now.

I learned much over the years from many of the guys that have long since left the forum. I made a lot of great contacts here, got some great back office people for myself and made it. In terms of what I still get out of the forums, it's precious little for me personally. (The atticus pitchfork a few years back and current help with IB things come to mind.)

I don't mind a noob question, but it needs to show that you are working and putting in the time to develop your methods and theories. Thread titles like "Why am I losing money?" and "Does TA work?" are indicative of people that have recently arrived here in search of their free bag of cash. If you spent no time thinking about it and six seconds typing it, why should anyone spend 5 minutes on a viable response?

Like me, most of the folks here with something to give are specialists - forex, oil, currencies, indexes, options....whatever. Even with a solid question that I'd like to answer, I don't know beans about forex or oil or currencies or a whole host of other things...no more than your cardiologist can help you with that itch you've got.

The "stock market" is the only entity I'm aware of on the entire planet that celebrates the disgusting wealth that can accrue from those who engage in it successfully. Look at our billionaires...Simons, Tepper, Paulson ... the list goes on and on and on with so many you've never heard of... If any of these guys had won 5% of this money in a casino they would been hauled in the back, had their ass beat and banned forever.

It's still the greatest game of all time.
