You guys that are serious about this volume (as indicator) should be aware that the various "services" that provide such data have differing parameters for the details. Some do not pick up "block, inhouse trades" for example. Some pick up composite from the tape rather than from the closing numbers, etc. With the increase use of big size trades vs. derivatives, the volume numbers have less of an impact. Think of the number of trades (then adjust for average size of the trades), take out the big blocks (over 10,000), and then you may have a number of value. Just my thoughts...
