Establishing passive portfolio with covered calls

Discussion in 'Options' started by Punle, Jul 5, 2020.

  1. I am surprised by the fact that for many people trading becomes such a conscious and promising business that allows them to implement serious business projects.
Recently I have been mostly confronted with the opinion that trading is a tool for quick earning, a game for good luck, entertainment, etc. And now I understand that people have understood the meaning of the market and what opportunities it gives you.
And traders began to create new ideas and assess the events that take place in the market in a completely different way. I am very happy about it, because before I was hiding that I was trading, but now I am talking about it frankly and I am not afraid of it, because I was able to wait for the crisis and to keep my financial well-being. And this is progress...

I agree. The boom of possibilities and ideas and the sharing and discussion of it is extremely positive.

On the other hand, sometimes it's also a cause of me feeling overwhelmed. But I have OCD so it could be just me having countless sleepless nights of trying to research every bit, every nook and cranny of every single possible strategy.

I'm currently looking at a leveraged version of the All-Weather Portfolio. I think it could tame my mind if I have a portfolio that takes care of itself by its allocations, and yet returns more than the indexes.

Passive formats of earning on the market are optimal for those people who take part in several business areas at once.
But I think that active trading is still a more interesting direction, which allows you to learn to quickly analyze the situation and make quick decisions, it is interesting and dynamic, it is a great opportunity to earn here and now. And I think that every trader should try it in order to fully understand what you are capable of and how you can act in this or that situation. Although I would probably choose a combination of active and passive earning formats to use part of the money for short-term positions, and part of the capital I could invest in stocks of large companies that deserve attention.

Optionalpha did a study on it, naked selling lead to more profits. They've promoted the wheel before but the data says otherwise.
