eSignal wish list : the dedicated thread

  1. OK here's something that's seriously lacking in this product:

the ability to filter time and sales by EXCHANGE - if I am trading listed, the LAST THING i want is to have to focus on ignoring all the bids and offers and prints outside of NYSE

i can't believe it's had all those revisions and this is still lacking

one other thing - can you PLEASE get rid of the "Are you sure you want to close Turbofeed Datamanager?" box that pops up EVERY GODDAMN TIME I CLOSE THE THING. I can answer that question right here - YES, I WANT TO CLOSE TURBOFEED DATAMANAGER - IF I DIDN'T WANT TO, WHY THE HELL WOULD I HAVE CLICKED ON THE LITTLE "X" IN THE UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER?? FOR MY HEALTH?????????????????

    Thanks!

  2. Try "XXX=N" to only see NYSE prints, etc. This works for me.

  3. eSignal Support

    eSignal Support eSignal

To add to the earlier response on entering regional stocks, we've had this feature for quite some time and here's an FAQ to give complete details:

    http://www.esignalcentral.com/support/faq/esignal/quotewin/quotewin_regional.asp

On the Turbofeed Data Manager closing question, the reason we designed it that way is that other applications, aside from eSignal, use the Turbofeed DM to collect data as well.

Examples include running Excel for DDE links or 3p apps like Ensign or Metastock.

If you want a one-step close for both apps, simply hit File, then Exit All & Save or the shortcut Ctrl-E.

    Thanks,

What does the majority say about Esignal compared to RealTick? Thanks

  6. A lot more realiable than RT, no comparaison in fast market!

  7. That's good to know.

Personally, (my own b!tching aside), I think the new esignal is a great product, at a very fair and competitive price.

I never used it, but realtick always seemed like such a total ripoff for plain vanilla charting. You don't get any scanning (unless you want to pay to run the same scans that every other johnny-on-the-spot is running with the oz scanner) or formula columns either.

And then RT charges you for the privilege of letting them decide the best place to route your orders, which any other broker has, plus they hit you for the ECN fees on top of their (high) ticket fee.

Oh the joys of using RT advanced routing...you pay them a ticket fee just so they can send your order to ARCA...makes perfect sense to me...

Got to agree. Have used Realtick for quite a while, and I like it alot, good charting, etc. But been using eSignal for the past couple of months and there's no comparison in a fast market, like first thing in the morning, or after a Gov't report, Fed announcment, etc. For many broadband connections Realtick frequently bogs down at those rapid times. Or to put it another way, with that same broadband connection eSignal provides more accurate and consistent data during those rapid times. Outside of those periods, that is for the majority of the day, they both work very well, they both have their advantages and disadvantages, and are both excellent products.

That method of closing the data mgr works, but it presents a problem. That is, it automatically saves everything you've changed in your charts, quote boxes, layout, etc. And that's fine as an option, but many times I want to close down eSignal and the data mgr in one step without saving any of the tinkering I've done throughout the day. So it would be nice if there was a master shutdown option in the File menu that didn't save everything. Or at the very least queried me as to whether I want to save various changes (similar to what happens if you shutdown by clicking the X in the upper righthand corner).

I'm new to esignal, but like it a lot so far. One thing I do miss is being able to draw s/r and trendlines on tick charts (advanced charts) or am I missing something?

    Thanks,
