Thanks for the examples. That helps quite a bit. We'll investigate and I'll let you know. In case it's of any interest in terms of these NYSE issues, if you used MER=N for NYSE only quotes, the bid/ask look just fine. Thanks,
Why the "volume" field for Globex products, namely ES, NQ, and side-by-side traded currency futures, are not updated in realtime, like what a/c/e YM does? Or any way to see the dynamically updated intraday volumes of Globex-traded contracts, instead of the volumes of previous day?
On an Advanced Chart, Is there a way to display only two decimal places for study values on the price axis? I am displaying 4 and 5 decimal places. This makes the price area wider than it needs to be and eats up valuable screen space. Also, On daily charts the name of the month is displayed on a line underneath the day of the month. On Intraday charts this line is blank but eats up screen space. Might I suggest that the Month line be ommited and the month be represented by preceeding the first day of the month with a number and a slash. Example: 5/6 13 20 28 6/3 10 17 24 7/1 8 15 22 29 8/5 12 19 26 9/3 9 16 Thanks, Mike
Probably the last beta to be posted for 7.1, to go Gold next week. It is now open for all users to view. Available here: http://www.esignal.com/beta_71/default.asp The list of major new features are: Integrated Trading - We've added a new window type for brokerages to integrate their trading from within eSignal. The first integration currently available to test is with Interactive Brokers and an integration with Cyber Trader is soon to follow. This integration allows you to submit an order from within eSignal and lets you see the confirmations and status in this new window type. Back Testing â eSignal 7.1 offers its own back testing language, allowing you the ability to develop and test studies against historical data to see how they perform. Back testing results can be presented in a series of Strategy Analyzer Reports that help take the guesswork out of trading. Using the Strategy Analyzer Report, youâll have the unique ability to see the pros and cons of your strategy, change the way you buy and sell, improve trading robustness and gain faith in your trading performance. Tick Charts â Already available in the standard charts, weâre bringing tick charts into the new advanced charting. In this first beta, you will only be able to view 1 day of ticks, but itâll give you a good idea of what weâre doing. You can choose to show dots for each trade, bid and/or ask, as well as choose to connect them with a line. The chart only moves as each new update comes in, giving you a fixed amount of space for each tick. Tick Bars â Not only can you look at ticks in the advanced charting, but you can also select a set number of ticks to make up a bar or candle. To use this feature, you simply need to make the interval something like 7T, 50T, 123T or any number of ticks youâd like. Seconds Bars â Now, youâre no longer limited to intervals in whole minutes and can set an interval in seconds. To use this feature, you simply need to make the interval something like 13S, 45S, 90S or any number of seconds youâd like. Price Filtering â This filter on the advanced charts allows you to set a % range or % average range of a bar compared to the bars before and after. If a price comes in that is outside the filtered range, it will be displayed in a different color of your choice and wonât be used to calculate any studies or to set the scaling of the chart. Data Export â Youâll be able to export all the data from an advanced chart in tabular format, including any studies applied at the time. The export can be in text format, separated by commas or in an .html format. It can also be copied to your clipboard, so you can paste it into any other program that can take this format. File Share -- The new eSignal File Share allows you to share files, documentation and images with fellow traders including chart files and images, layouts, Word documents and more. Using the publishing tools available in eSignal you can easily publish files and images right from eSignal to the File Share groups. A Lesson Manager is also available for capturing multiple eSignal windows and displaying them in a PDF file for review by fellow users. Chuck @eSignal
This thread is too long to read through so if anybody has already asked for Keltner Channels to be added to the indicators I would second the motion.
How about the option to specify what dates to use for backtesting. For example if you use 15 minute bars. Default only goes back 10 days. You must scroll back on the chart, to get the data on the chart, then you can backtest further. Give me a window that says start date and end date. Bert
Don't know if anyone's noticed, but only shorter intraday timeframe charts have vertical (dotted) grid lines to delineate each day. No problem on 1min, 2min, 3min, 5min, 10min, 13min, and 15min. But on the longer timeframes like 30min, 60min, 120min there is no vertical grid line each day (only the beginning of each week) so your bars or candlesticks run into each other when one day ends and the next day begins. In short, during those "crossover" periods (which happen every day) you can't tell at a glance what day you're on! Maybe they think nobody uses charts with intraday timeframes longer than 15min???
Easyrider, Using the Advanced Chart, under the Add Formulas, the Library folder there are two Keltner studies. Here is even more on the new eSignalCentral file sharing site: http://share.esignal.com/groupcontents.jsp?folder=EFS - Bands&groupid=7 Chuck @eSignal
