In esignal's defense, it turned out that the problem lay with my machine. Experienced a major client software glitch. Only remedy was to completely wipe all files (not just uninstall) from my system and try again. Works like a charm now. Don't know what caused it, but support was helpful.

Hi. I am curious if anyone has used e-signal now that it's integrated with IB? If so, any comments would be appreciated. I have been a IB user for years, and am currently using stock watch pro, because of it's integration with IB. Thanks in advance.

I wish eSignal had accurate quotes before the open. It used to be that the NASDAQ quotes were okay even though they NYSE quotes weren't any good (I should say the ecn quotes for NYSE didn't seem to show up, obviously there are no NYSE quotes before the open). Lately, none of the quotes have been any good before the open. Do any of you have a way get good quotes from eSignal before the open?

  6. I used Esignal 6.0 and cancelled and went to RealTick earlier this year.

Now I'm back to Esignal, primarily because I'm not trading every day and REalTick was costing almost 3 bills. I really miss the Oz scanner! Today is the first chance I have had to work with the platform

Esignal has some long overdue improvements since 6.0 but is still lacking in many basic areas.

Regarding Advanced Chart: Let's say that I have an advanced chart for viewing my favorite equities and I want to see 1,3 and 5 min and a daily chart. On each of those charts I want to to have slightly different studies (MA's BB's etc). I should be able to just click on the icon on the favorites bar and one of my other charts should appear with the desired studies. (This is how a RealTick STOCKS window works). The problem is that a Favorite is comprised of a Symbol and/or a bar interval - but does not include a Time Template and a Style Template. Therefore, a favorite should consist of a Symbol/Interval/Time Template/StyleTemplate.

Also, Each Advanced Chart Window should have its own Favorites toolbar. Currently, when you customize one Favorites bar, all Favorites bars on all advanced charts change. Where is the logic in that?

Linking is really lame. Let's say that I have a Quote window with my futures symbols in it and I have an advanced chart that I like to view my futures with. There is no way to link a single Quotes window directly to a specific Advanced Chart.

Quotes windows - the symbols can not be loaded or saved to/from a text file. Also needs a dropdown list box that can load a new list of symbols into the Quote window - of course the old list would close first and release the old symbol count.

There should be a means to "hide" and "show" the studies without removing them.

The chart does not draw a bar if no trades were made during that interval. On a 1 min chart if no trades take place for 10 minutes, the chart just skips 10 bars.

Implement symbol chains similar to TAL Chains.

Please bear in mind that this is the first opportunity that I have had to use Esignal and that some of these short comings may just be my own ignorance.

Thanks for your feedback/suggestions. I'll make sure they are all forwarded to our Product Management Team.

On a couple of your points, you can copy and paste symbols into a quote window, from our scanner service for example. That's not the same as having distinct ready-made lists but in case you weren't aware, you can copy/paste.

On the linking, you can set-up linking so your cursor can update certain charting windows and not others. I've seen other comments regarding our linking but once they learned more about how our linking works, they were pretty satisfied. If it's possible we could help show you how to better use auto-linking, feel free to give us a call. Otherwise, I'll pass the suggestion along.

Also, 7.1 should be released within a week or two so you'll have access to new features like backtesting, data export and further integration with brokers like IB and Cyber.

    Thanks,

  10. I have been with Esignal for about 3 years, and for the money, have been pleased. A couple of things on my wish list:

    1. In my old job, I had CQG. It was terrific, but Esignal's advanced charts have made it competitive in features, and at a lower cost (last time I checked). One thing I liked/used with CQG was the Market Profile feature. However, CQG allows you to look at multiple days and varying tick intervals. I would love to see Esignal move the Market Profile function into the advanced chart area, and make it more flexible.

    2. On a related note, I also use the Price/Volume graph. I would like to be able to see a user-defined multiple day's data version of this, and/or be able to also see the info in "tabular" rather than "bar chart" form, so that I may track multiple day data on my own.
