Esignal Support: Go find it on your own

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by cdcolvin, Dec 5, 2002.

  1. The Question:

How can I overlay an index on an advanced chart?

The first answer from Esignal Support:

    Check our FAQ (http://www.esignalcentral.com/support/faq/esignal/advchart/)

    Did that, no answer.

The second answer from Esignal Support:

Visit this page (forgot the link), it will explain what File Sharing is all about.

Am I speaking martian or something? Can anyone on EliteTrader answer the question?

Sorry for the confusion. We should have an FAQ on this subject so we'll get that added ASAP. Here's how you do it:

Start inside the Advanced Chart in question.

Right click, choose Formulas, then Library. Select symOverlay.efs

Right click again and choose Edit Studies.

From the drop-down box in the upper left, choose the symOverlay.efs study.

Under Formula Parameters, insert the symbol you want to overlay ( $INDU for ex. ). You can also select the color and line styles here. Click OK. Should be all set now.

I think I've seen some other discussions on eSignal Central regarding overlays and efs files so if you want to see what else you can do with this type of overlay, you might want to search the eSignal Central Bulletin Board and File Share area.

    Hope that helps.

    Thanks,
