I have been getting real slow tick downloads during non US trading hours. It takes forever to download one day's tick data for one symbol.

Are they turning off some of their servers during non US trading hours ?

It works just fine during US trading hours.

This has been going on for a long time.

I also tried other data vendors & there is no problem with them.

  2. I am based in Europe, and haven't noticed this problem.

In fact I am currently (since 04h00 EST to now 07h07 EST) downloading a week's worth of tick data for multiple US stock symbols, and don't notice any slowness; seems fine.

Perhaps some other aspect of your set up is the cause? e.g. internet connection, your computer, etc ...?

  3. I am in Asia (Japan) and have never had the problem you describe.

If you really had such a problem, it would be normal to contact eSignal support, wouldn't it?

We have clients across the globe so the only times we even do maintenance is from Friday evening ET until early Sunday morning. If it works fine during US market hours that would seem to rule out any issues with your PC, the software, your setup, etc. It could be an ISP issue so you might want to try a freeware utility to compare ping times between the good/bad periods of time you are seeing. This KB article has an IP to use and some other tips:

Also, our LiveRep chat service is available 25/5 so feel free to log-on and provide your username. We'll be able to connect to the exact server you are and compare results.
