Does anyone know if overlay charts are possible in an advanced chart window in esignal? I know they exist for regular charts, and for all I can tell that's the only place they are implemented, but this screenshot on the esignal site has me confused: http://www.esignal.com/education/likepro/jbollinger/default.asp Click the chart thumbnail on that page. It looks like Bollinger has a $spx line chart plotted on top of a candle chart. The text in the upper left corner says '(something illegible) versus SPX'. He goes on to say, "A symbol overlay is placed in the bottom clip to assess how the stock is doing in relation to the market. I use the S&P 500, $SPX.." If symbol overlays are possible in an advanced chart i'd really like to know how to use them.
Freeman, The symbol overlay feature has not been added to Advanced Charting yet but it should be included in an upcoming version. No specific ETA at this time. The chart you're referring to is using a spread. Here's an FAQ on how to enter spreads in Advanced Charting. http://www.esignalcentral.com/support/faq/esignal/advchart/advchart_spreads.asp Hope that helps. Thanks,
Thanks for the help Scott. The chart that bollinger has linked in his article shows a candle chart. My understanding of charts using spreads is that they are rendered only as line charts. Am I missing something here?
