Esignal outage

Discussion in 'Trading Software' started by swinger, May 11, 2006.

  1. Give Esignal break. Those 386s with they use on their network can sometimes take ages to reboot.

  5. Nice note, Esignal.

How about showing customers that you do care by stepping up and offering customers a refund for the day they were out of business even though for many traders it may be only a portion of what they lost by not being in play?

Personally I have one esignal feed and one iq feed and within the next two weeks it will be 2 iq feeds.

I can get the same data for < 1/2 the price and I don't use the charting or other features. I pay esignal about $100 a month for 200 symbols and get 500 for about $50 a month at IQFeed.

So far I have fouind reliability to be similar (until yesterday).

  8. I always wonder why people think that they lost money by not being in the market on days their data vendor is down. Having 2 vendors helps keep you in business, but I wonder how many upset traders actually came out ahead by not making bad moves on the down market?

Esignal may have just saved you your mortgage by keeping you on the sidelines.

    Cheers,

  9. If I hire a gardener to cut my lawn and he doesn't turn up, I don't pay him.

If I buy a plan ticket and the flight is canceled, I don't pay for the flight.

If I subscribe to a datafeed, and the data don't show, why should I have to pay?

I shouldn't. That's the way commerce works. You get paid for delivering what you promise.

If I make a living out of trading, how in hell does esignal not working, save my mortage?

  10. And if your electricity drops out for a few hours do you get a refund?
    What about your cable TV?
Gas? phone? Do you get a refund when any of these services have an outage from time to time?

Of course not, GROW UP people
