I have just completed a 30-day trial of "eSignal OnDemand". The pricing is on http://www.esignal.com/ondemand/pricing.aspx. 1 ) In my experience, it's a MYTH that "eSignal data is the best and most dependable quote service". In my experience, the CME ESZ9 data that I received from eSignal was IDENTICAL to the CME ESZ9 data that I received from my broker. In other words, it was just as bad as that of the broker who charges only a small fraction of the price that eSignal wanted to charge. 2 ) It's a MYTH that eSignal charts are first class. In my experience, eSignal charts were both BUGGY and overpriced. In experience the eSignal charts were inferior to charts of both SierraCharts and Quotetracker, both of which I could get for free or for a small fraction of the price that eSignal wanted for their charts. 3 ) It's a MYTH that eSignal is the most convenient one to download data from. In my experience, there was only so much data I could download. Only 30-days of data was available, if I wanted tick data. And if I wanted 1-minute data, only the last 5 1/2 months were available. And downloading from eSignal was unusually slow-slow and incredibly inconvenient. For every 5 1/2 month of data, and for every security I was interested in, I had to manually hold down the control (Ctrl) and left arrow (<) keys of my PC, for approx. 5 MINUTES! And if I wanted 1 full month of TICK data, I had to manually hold down the control (Ctrl) AND left arrow (<) keys of my PC for about 300 MINUTES! After one full HOUR, the job was still not done! At the 1-hour mark, I could download less than 2 days of tick data! And when I pressed on, in great frustration, my PC kept freezing on me, and had to restart again and again! No, it was not my PC! I have a brand new PC with plenty of RAM that has never frozen on me in any other situation! 4 ) With eSignal, getting your money back is a definite RISK. Partly because, in my experience, eSignal people drag their feet and DELAY your refund till the end of your billing cycle, or a non-specific date in the distant future. And also because when I cancelled my 30-day trial and talked to employees of eSignal, MANY of them convinced me that I would get only a PARTIAL refund. The idea is, now that they have your money, if they can justify it, even if the justification is wrong, you will not get back some of your money! Yes, definitely, there is a RISK of NOT getting your money back. Even when on http://www.esignal.com/ondemand/ondemand_minifutures.aspx eSignal says it's a "30-day risk-free trial". No, it's definitely NOT risk-free! 5 ) The only positive experience I have had with eSignal were the minutes I spent on the phone with eSignal's sales (and tech support) people. Because my calls were directed NOT to India but Oakland, California (i.e. to the 510 area). And because they spoke pretty good English. And because they answered my calls relatively quickly. I hope this helps.
