I'm trying to email a layout to another computer.

I tried right clicking on my layout folder, then I send it to email recipient {new computer}. On the new computer, it says the layout is there, but when I try opening the layout , the layout is empty, no charts etc

Any ideas? My doing this right?

I'm upgrading systems and don't want to start creating new layouts again.

You guys are always quicker than the regular tech support.

    Thanks,

    Bud.

    Hi,

The layout file is more or less a map of where windows are placed on the desktop. You still need to include the individual file types along with that layout. If you go with Pages rather than layouts, all the information is stored in a single file and thus easier to move. Both of these methods have plusses. Here are a few KB articles of likely interest.

KB article on copying files from one PC to another.

    Difference between pages and layouts

    Thanks.
