I'm curious why, in eSignal, if you configure your Volume display by selecting "Color bars based on current price bar" it proceeds to color dojis green! A doji, of course, is a price bar whose closing price is the same as it's opening price. So it shouldn't be colored green because that implies that price went up when, in fact, price went nowhere. And it doesn't matter whether the prior bar was red or green, all dojis magically get colored green. Realtick properly colors them black, neutral, as they should be.
This is a known issue, and is on the list of items to address. In the meantime, an EFS is available here, that will color the bars appropriately.
****** Magna; Once saw a doji wrongly colored irregular yellow. It was the temporary exception to the rule. My normal Esignal doji [ price + volume color]is polar bear white or seagull white.
Esignal President Chuck; Overall excellant reliable service, especially ''extra mile'' stuff like recent article with Bollinger Capital Management. President Chuck ,notice I put ''Price-charts'' in caps. Could you work something out with Mr. Price Headly of BIG TRENDS ??? Some thing like that recent Bollinger Capital Management article. We enjoy Mr. Pricealso with Alan Farley. Some people abuse toll free numbers. I do not. May be President Chuck ,you could give us a rebate on the customer service calls.
Jay, Just tried this EFS and it's not at all what I was talking about. If you re-read my note I was referring to the VOLUME bars, not the price bars. Your EFS changes the color of the price bars which is essentially useless since a doji is instantly recognizable regardless of it's color. What I want is for the VOLUME bar of a doji to be black, so that when I glance at the ongoing volume I am not fooled into thinking the associated (doji) price bar closed up.
As a follow-up I would like to thank Jay for graciously providing me with a link to an EFS file that properly colors the volume bar black (that is associated with a doji price bar). Here it is for those others who might be interested: http://share.esignal.com/download.jsp?groupid=84&folder=&file=Neutral Bar Volume Color.efs
Thanks to Andy S ........ and Gary W ... for the great eSig support. Problem's that could be fixed ...... were fixed. ................
Does ESignal still have only about 3mos of historical intraday data or have they expanded their servers?
