Anyone else having problems when opening the Beta? Was working fine a week ago, but now I get the "Please tell eSignal about this problem" window before it's able to load, whether or not 10.6 is running. 10.6 is still working fine. Didn't see anything in the esignal forum, so thought I'd check here.

  3. I like the look of the new platform Jay, and I've seen first-hand how multithreading a complex UI can really minimize the nervousness of end users. I'd be interested in beta testing the current version, is it available to traders who aren't current eSignal customers? I'm not looking for a free lunch and would be ok with a delayed feed, but it would be very interesting to see how the new platform performs with RT quotes under the kinds of heavy load we saw last week (and I expect to see this week).

Feel free to answer in the thread or PM me, either way congrats on the new platform.

  4. I tried version 11 on an 8 monitor setup alonside version 10.

My impression is that it's the right direction for esignal to go in, but this thing needs a LOT of work before it's of any use.

My video cards which work fine with version 10.5 could not handle this platform. I uninstalled it. Looks too much like Worden Bros. telechart.

I'll check it again in a few months.

btw, esignal/interactive data are under new owners. They better not start meddling with programs/data/prices.

  6. Interesting, I use about 24MP of screen real estate when I'm trading so that's a concern for me. I'm not sure how one would isolate a problem like that to video card performance though, is there some utility you can run that shows you video card load or something like that?

My gut feel would be that if your video cards can handle 10.5, then they should handle V.11 even better since I think some of the video processing occurs in the main CPU (in addition to the graphics card processor), hence better cause of multi-thread design. But I'm not an expert, so I hope there is not something in V.11 that adds significantly more load to the video cards. I'm not too familiar yet with V.11, but its new look doesn't seem that much more graphics intensive at first glance.

The Preview is limited to eSignal users only, but eSignal OnDemand has a program to trial it for only $1 for the first month ($25/mo after).

  9. i came to a prop desk in ny from a major hedge fund in ct and never heard of esignal and everyone was using it here. i have an awesome rep who trains in person and am making good trades with esignal. i became a fan for its technical analysis. it never freezes somehow. cant wait for the new version as i watch 400 or so stocks and the tabs should be nice. the differnt type of charts like volume and number of ticks per bar are easy to use in the new one also.

    Hey Jay,

Will the new version have alerts for trendlines? I'd like alerts to go off once prices hit my trendlines. Will this be possible?

    Thanks.
