Its a lazy weekend so I am having another laugh here. I am also moving into intermediate and expert territory. Do your thing but don't expect me to try to help you out; it will not be possible.
It's all NLP, then? Have you read Julian Jaynes? People with a bicameral mind are perfect candidtates, aren't they Jack? Those are the ones who need to be told what to do and when to do it; people who can't think for themselves. I have read Jaynes' book, Jack. Jack, with every post you help me out, immensely. Your own words illustrate the points I am making. I am a witness.
For those of you unfamiliar with Julilan Jaynes: He was a psychologist who wrote "The Origin of Consciousness in the Breakdown of the Bicameral mind." In that book, he used examples from world literature to make his point that people with "bicameral minds," people who today might be diagnosed with mental illnesses, were once the norm. For example, he uses characters from Homer's book to illustrate how warriors wouldn't do anything until they heard a voice, presumably from a god. That same type of person today, a trader presumably, wouldn't make a trade until his/her guru had said it was a good trade, or had trained, by "transference," the trader to think like the guru thinks and so know whether a trade was good or bad. People! You have a mind of your own, don't you? Don't fall for BS!
225, let us be very careful, nay, respectful here. You, I and Jack are probably the only ones on ET who have read, much less understood, Julian Jaynes. Let that give you pause, whether about Jack or me. I'll bet Jack even read the grandaddy of Jaynes by Reich, some scary shit.
Bearbrains, the B-Team would welcome you with open arms. We have only one requirement. That you think critically about SCT. I did not say reject it, only think critically about it. Look up the term "heuristics". There is a higher form of trading than SCT, just as there is sex better than masturbation.
I didn't mean any offense to you, Joe. You are one of ET's best. I may be a contender to Jack's throne, but will relinquish it to you as soon as it's mine.
I really dont care much about SCT. I mean if I could get there some day that would be nice but Im really more interested in picking up a couple of points on a regular basis. I do believe that volume will help me get there. It kind of blows my mind that so many people do not see the connection. I see it and I am a beginner. Moves almost always end on a lower volume bar. New moves almost always begin on increasing volume. Breakouts from congestion always begin on increasing volume. This banter pro and con Jack is entertaining but this is a serious subject and anyone really interested in improving should pay close attention to this debate.
BB, this is not about entertainment, I am as serious as syphilis. You want to see SCT work? Go to one-minute. Klaatu barada nikto.
Syphilis is pretty serious. What exactly should I be looking for? You are doing SCT on a one minute chart? Up to now I have found 1 minute to be much too hyper to trade unless you are doing ticks somehow. I have found Jacks choice of 5 min as a basic chart to trade off to work pretty well but I am wide open to suggestions. p.s. After reading your original post I looked at a number of 1 minute ES charts and many times three or four increasing red bars signaled the end of the move. I can post some examples if you like.
