Are you sure you can trade ES options after hours? I always see the b/a on some options at 1.50 / 10, or something like that. It always gets fixed by market open.
As I said - the market is open besides regular trading hours but there is no liquidity. No liquidity - MMs do not conduct their regular business and you may see offers from other market participants like you, that is why 10 point spread appears to be there sometimes. But this is real - you may trade it if you want.
any more comments on index options...futures (elec es or pit s+p) vs cash (spy or spx)?? i would think the futures would be way to go esp if you DO NOT have a universal acct advantages: better margin ability to hedge 24 hr with e-mini or big s+p one acct to hold hedge and options would outweigh disadvantages: higher commish lower liquidity anyone traded both and which do they prefer?? also are there any other US futures index options more liquid?? thanks also which has better tax treatment?
