One change beginning today, Mar. 1. So far this year volatility in ES is about 20% below last years average. I'm adjusting for it by increasing my size on each trade from 6 contracts to 7.
Maybe Iâm wrong; you donât allow trading ES in your IRA account. Who is your broker? Iâm individual trader, trading QQQ in my IRA account. My broker is TS. Iâm trading ES and NQ in my won account with IB. I like to trade ES and NQ. Another question is you donât allow shorting in IRA account is I right or wrong? Iâd appreciate if you explain it to me. Thanks.
Yes, I'm daytrading my IRA. All you have to do is transfer your IRA to a custodian account and then direct the account to open a futures trading account. We clear through REFCO but to them it looks like the account is from a institution. My IRA is setup at: http://www.trustetc.com and they let us do all we want except for the prohibited transactions. We get audited all the time. At one of the audits I asked if trading my IRA in a futures account was ok. The agent told me the IRS wouldn't waste the time to check on my trading. As he put it, if you want to take a tax advantaged account and trade it so that it loses it's benefit, why would he care?
some trust to handle trading future in IRA account http://www.mtrustcompany.com/ http://www.midoh.com/ http://www.lincolntrust.com/ http://www.entrustadmin.com/
Msprofitable Thanks for the response. I understand that you trade 3 systems. Is that in one account? I guess it must be 2 or more different brokerage accounts. I canât figure out you trade 3 systems in 1 account. If you do could you explain it to me. Thanks.
Yes, one account for my IRA. I'm using TS 2000i. All I do is monitor the orders as they pop up in the Quotemonitor window. I have the sound on so I know when something has changed. Then I enter the orders for the account and check the fills.
