B1S2, I don't know whether you watch T&S during trading, for positional trading it is not important, but intra day it can give you all sorts of clues observing the order flow. At the moment I see a swing into buying activity on T&S and IMO we are still in an uptrend today.
b1b2...........just setting the traps to see if the sharks are out there............lurking as usual...calling porgie bad names and attacking his simple comments like trend is your friend...and when lagging lines become leading lines etc.............the market is not your friend nor your enemy..............it does not give........or take.........we take and we give........the market does not pull the trigger for us.......it does not say "george, you entr here" NOW..... only george says that.........it does not say geroge "exit here"........only george does that ........even if george's stops get hit.......that is not market taking that is george giving..........the market doesn't talk to me, except by the system i have developed......if system fails, that is my failure.........i don't really care what the price does at all, I care what the system tells me to do about it and being correct so often it gets scary........i care about setting stops properly.......i care about the system having an edge to capture points consistently........if I operate the system as designed and proven by enormous backtesting ad nauseum...realtime ad nauseum.....i care about doing what i have planned to do since I began this excursion .......5 years ago.........do what most people can't.......and u thought i was going to say "make money".......I don't like money........but is a necessary evil........the money comes because it is earned, not given........capture more positive points than negative on a consistent basis until you can begin the multiple contract creep.......slow and steady........love of money is a trap for your very soul.......i have had much and had little........i prefer little....porgie gets high on life, not wealth.......
if i described my system which i don't sell or give, it would be of no avail as we all have to find our own system to fit our personality........ego and other stuff...........and the phantom remark is based on attacks and ridicule from other threads........porgie is a phantom trader meaning not a real trader.......just a wayfarer passing thru.......or am I? when i pass along some things they are not based on phantom trading........system failure is truly rare......2 associates trade it as porgie is not in good health........can't take the excitement of daytrading.........my system gives more than the edge, it gives a true advantage..........but i earned it, trustme i earned it......5 years and 12000 hours plus, midnight oil.........it can be done.........i am a slow learner.........slow but sure.......it can be done, go for it.........it is more about you than the system.......
Hi Porgie. glad the phantom is back from the tubes. The "tubes" remind me of Batman and Robin when I was a young boy back in the sixties. They had the secret entrance and exit to and from the underground place. I'm 49 now but I like it when something reminds me of those times. This is my first post since becoming a member a few days ago. I have been following your's for a few weeks now though. I started trading back in 1988 but was very new to this then. Got started in futures trading through Ken Roberts, (like a lot of people). Made some money right off the bat (luck) but managed to give it all back within a year. You are right, the markets don't take it - you give it. I knew that to succeed in this endeavor I would have to have proper training/education so I got to it. I went to trading conferences, schools and seminars, mostly put on through Futures Magazine. Bought software and books. It helped a lot but during the time that followed, I still hadn't traded any. Then as time passed I began to get more and more distracted with life e.g. family and the like. I haven't traded since but not a day has gone by that I don't think of it. Well here it is some years later and I am finally getting back to it because I really want to do this full time like I have dreamed of doing for so long. I have been actively researching and studying for the past year and as a result have seen how much the business of futures trading has changed since `89. However a lot has remained the same as well. Anyways...I enjoy reading about your trading with the system you have designed and use. p.s. I hope your health is not that bad.
George, the main reason posters get personal on BBs is statements like my "system failure is truly rare" or "my system gives more than the edge, it gives a true advantage", etc. I would not be the one to dispute your statements, as I know that it is possible to find such a system if you really look for it and eventually it's sitting right in front of you and you are like...Hey, that's all there is to it? and how could I not see it all this time before? BUT!!! The overwhelming majority of posters are either just posters or traders not bringing in $ for whatever reason or their system performance generates around 10% PA yield (WHAT??!!) and they are the ones that would not believe people that boast about their system's performance. I am not saying ALL boasting is bad, in the world that we live in losers will be envious and EVEN taking pride in what you do would trigger a negative reaction from a person without an edge, as so many people like to call it. I like this journal as adults stay adults here, I think someone switched on the parent control button or something
