Well, today we could see a 30 pts drop just to close the earlier gap (not this morning's upgap). I only count cash gaps and that is around 800...
Long time ago when I was tinkering with it trying to find one that acts as resistance/support this came out as the winner... On pretty much any timeframe...By the way nice calls and trading yesterday! Here is the last 20 days' chart, look how many times it bounced from the SMA 9:
Pek, I took a look at the PA in the AH AFTER Oct 15 SDD and at the PA for the RTH of Oct 16, (which was your example of a trade day after an SDD). The Oct 15 AH action established a low around 2:30am, worked higher, good gap up at RTH open. Then, as you have commented, after 10am, prices moved lower and Px actually undercut the AH low before establishing a strong trend higher. Road map for today? picture of chart attached.
weird market action today, so far there is a confluence of points at 805-808 - maybe it goes there before any rally
I picked that date because that was the most typical action of a next day after an SDD. But October had I think 6 SDDs, and not all were the same (nor were the next days), so it is hard to tell or draw conclusions...
We should at least test yesterday's low sometime this week and then the lows from last week will be tested at some point in the near future. Staying short here.

There could be quite a bit of noise with the bullish divergence on daily. The weekly and monthly remain strongly down.-- --Bought back Dec at 823.25 and sold into March at 822.00 (20 contracts). Stop will remain at 1075.00--
