spy monthly , wave 4? set to 20% retracement. This is called zig zag pnts in TS. (tradestation). Allows you to adjust your trendline to short or longer timeframes.
1444 target.. edit: if you look at the time and sales, the futures isn't driving most of the time, most of the time its the individual stocks behind the scenes being hit or pumped up intraday. its much easier to do now days, with the advent of computer program trading. set your time and sales filter to >= 100 lot and you will see. the price ladder readjusts, calculating the individual components implied value on components of the spooz... the calculations being done far outpace what one would think.
Components of Spooz ----------> Cash quote -------> the futures is basically trying to frontrun the implied futures second to second cash quote, based on the component orderflow.
I guess I am the only not overly bearish? Market is way oversold and I would expect a pop to 1510. I am not going to chase the downside at this point. I may miss some massive moves but in the end I know it keeps more money in the account. However, I definately wouldnt want to hold long over the weekend. I just dont see any good shorting oppurtunities longer term without excessive risk.
the price hasn't manifested the historical size losses in the marketplace of wealth in the credit markets. this scenario is too ripe to pass up by the day to day market makers.
When everyone thinks we'll get a 3:30 sell off it usually doesn't happen. Personally I'm flat, might take an NQ long if PA warrants.
I would love to position for a long term sustained rally, but the pessimism needs to be washed out with one large intraday sustained down move before the holidays.
after synic printed his "i'm not bearish" comment, i was going to chime in and agree, but decided to remain silent. then a chimed in and said that he, too, was not "overly bearish". i thought, okay, that makes three of us, but still was going to remain silent. the thing which got me writing, though, was synic's comment about being too short (or was it too many shorts?) making one a kass. what's a kass????
