v bottoms are rare as you stated. In my observation, they occur when the selling was highly pronounced, such as around '03. We have not seen a v bottom for years, but there have been at least 3 retest bottoms in the last 2 years; it is almost predictable. my "the market likes to keep you guessing" theory makes me think this time it could be different this time . none the less, the countertrend model is short until the cash drops below 1448.
vix is tanking..... ....do we really have to close those gaps before heading up ? i.e.... 1450, 1420 ------------------- quote..... none the less, the countertrend model is short until the cash drops below 1448.
My networks seems to be hacked, there is a lot of competitive effort to make money in this field. I have multiple platforms and infrastructure, atleast 4 laptops with seperate broadband cards. And more then 4 desktops also. I'm going to lay low for awhile, gona get the tech guy in, if I find whos doing it you will be served court papers. Chris
Off having breakfast and catching up on email... I went long from 1469.50 at 12:02 ET. Target is 1480. However, this target will be invalidated if ES paints below 1473 before it gets there. (If that happens, I'll probably exit the trade and wait for another setup.)
Chris- Run a netstat command on all your boxes and see if anything there shoudn't be there. Best to restrict incoming and outgoing access on your boxes to only those urls and ips required for trading.
What do you mean by that, and how do you know? If you mean that someone is mirroring you or otherwise using specific knowledge of your orders, I'd say it's much more likely an inside job (someone at the brokerage) than someone hacking your network. The latter ain't easy to do. To clarify, it's easy enough to steal the IP packets, but it's not easy to make any sense of them.
