Did vz realize who's drive-by postings I was referring to? Anyway - here is a spread ratio chart of $SPX vs $CRB Commodity Index, which shows it topped out the week following November's election. Coincidence? Now recently it retraced to an almost perfect 61.8% end of May but since has been in a new downtrend. If M.E. conflict continues at current pace, or even worse, accelerates I expect the downtrend in spread to accelerate with increasing crude price feeding into $CRB + any Tariff Tantrum price hikes feeding thru to us consumers as well. If this does take place then inversely SPX likely would go down.
