You should move to NYC and set up a little fortune cookie cart next to the WS bull. Sell shares in your operation and you'll beat the S&P.
As crazy as it may seem we may hit 5550-5580 today if the LOD holds on this PB. Personally, I'm flat and done at this point as I don't like fading this, nor do I like the long entry with these wild oscillations. All it takes is one news item to send this 100 points up or down quicker than you may think. I counted 37.75 points in 3 seconds around 10AM. Fortunately, I was in a long trade which closed out on the spike higher. Called it a day after that as I haven't traded much the last 1 1/2 weeks and I'm easing slowly back into it.
Trump: We will have fair trade deal with China. But anyone heard the Chinese point of view ? I am sick of fake driven news market US Treasury Secretary Bessent: No unilateral offer from Trump to cut China tariffs. China situation needs to be de-escalated for trade discussions to proceed. I do not have time frame for start of China talks, they will have to take place at lower levels than Trump and Xi. US-China tariffs will likely have to come down for trade negotiations to talk, rates are unsustainable. Both the US and China are waiting to speak to the other, both sides see current tariff situation is unsustainable. Always the same guys talking saying the same things. So we went from a 'trade deal' to 'willing to talk' at a 'lower level'. I am not surprised at all by these bullshiters.
for what's worth, they think he is a joke since 2019 Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun’s Regular Press Conference on April 23, 2025 Updated: April 23, 2025 20:45 Global Times: It was reported that President Trump told the press that the U.S. is “doing fine with China” and he would not “play hardball” with China in talks. The 145-percent tariff is very high and “it’ll come down substantially. But it won’t be zero.” He added that China has to make a deal, because “otherwise they’re not going to be able to deal in the United States. If they don’t make a deal, we’ll set the deal, because we’re the ones that set the deal.” U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent characterized the current situation as essentially a trade embargo. He also said that it was not the U.S.’s goal to decouple from China, and a comprehensive deal could take two to three years, but negotiations with Beijing have not yet started. What is China’s comment on this? Guo Jiakun: We have said from day one that tariff and trade wars have no winners, protectionism leads nowhere, and to decouple is to self-alienate. This tariff war is launched by the U.S. We have made it very clear that China does not look for a war, but neither are we afraid of it. We will fight, if fight we must. Our doors are open, if the U.S. wants to talk. If a negotiated solution is truly what the U.S. wants, it should stop threatening and blackmailing China and seek dialogue based on equality, respect and mutual benefit. To keep asking for a deal while exerting extreme pressure is not the right way to deal with China and simply will not work.
