That 10:11 'fake news' move was really something. 292,75 points in 7 minutes. Wow. Did we ever see something similar?
They were saying before (I can't find the link right now) that there hasn't been anything like this, not even during Lehman or Covid, you'd have to go back to Black Monday If I recall correctly the flash crash was a bit more in terms of %, but less in terms of points.
+220 points or so today. Some luck on my side. Might be a record day for me in terms of points, but when you consider how big the ranges are on these bars, it's not actually that amazing lol. Absolutely insane market! expecting we go down again soon, but hope i'm wrong as my investment account is crushed lol
Makes sense. I could possibly find out in my database if I tweaked a few parameters, but not sure I'll bother. I traded through covid and I'm 99.99 % certain we didn't see anything similar. a) Looking at the move starting at 10.11: Price at 10.11: 5075,50. Move size: 298,00. % Change: 5,9 %. Duration: 7 minutes. b) Looking at the entire move from bottom to top starting at 09.45: Price at 09.45: 4867,00 Move size: 419,50 % Change = 8,6 %. Duration: 33 minutes. The biggest daily range in my database is 218,25 points over the course of an entire trading day. This was almost 1.5 times that in 7 minutes. I think the flash crash was around 9 %.
Well of course less in points. Index was much lower. Percentages are all that matter anyway. Day to day basis or year to year.
