Personally, I think ES/MES is more suitable in this volatility. I've been considering a permanent switch to NQ in the past, but I don't see that happening anytime soon. Maybe if the VIX drops back to 10. Don't see that happening anytime soon, either.
trader bessent to quick as early as this week. he was just delusional about cheetos like Elon and other “good” billionaires. now it is time to bail. https://www.yahoo.com/news/top-trump-official-freaked-tariffs-165957786.html Top Trump Official So Freaked Out by Tariffs, He Wants to Quit “My advice to every country right now is: Do not retaliate. Sit back, take it in, let’s see how it goes. Because if you retaliate, there will be escalation. If you don’t retaliate, this is the high-water mark,” he warned. Bessent’s warning came off particularly clueless given that democratically elected foreign leaders are likely beholden to their electorate, who won’t take lightly to Trump’s blatant bullying.
my favorit kind of fight, "good" billionaires lost their shirts and revolting https://www.cnbc.com/2025/04/05/trump-tariffs-live-updates-global-trade-reacts.html Musk takes aim at Navarro Elon Musk took aim at Peter Navarro, as the top Trump trade advisor continues to defend the president’s sweeping tariffs. “The market will find a bottom. It will be soon, and from there, we’re going to have a bullish boom, and the Dow is going to hit 50,000 during Trump’s term,” Navarro said on CNN Saturday. “A PhD in Econ from Harvard is a bad thing, not a good thing,” Musk wrote in a post on X, responding to a post on the social media platform by a user touting Navarro’s qualifications. Musk — whose DOGE team is engaged in a controversial effort to cut federal spending, including mass layoffs — also said that Navarro hasn’t built “s--t.”
It's the same playbook as with Ukraine: how dare they defend themselves? Some small countries will cave in and "negotiate", particularly if they're single party (Vietnam, Myanmar, etc.) and don't have to answer to their constituents. Other small countries will throw themselves in the arms of China. China, the EU and a few other major countries (UK, Japan, Canada?) will call their bluff. My guess is Trump folds at ES 4350 (If GOP Senate doesn't take away his toy before that).
I'm just gonna regurgitate what I wrote earlier: Actually, I see it the other way around. Other countries will very likely team up and reduce tariffs among themselves to hit back at the US, giving the US a taste of its own medicine. It ain't like the US can just go full throttle on every country and expect to come out on top. The US might think it can muscle its way through this tariff war, but if the rest of the world decides to team up against the US, it could end up isolated, holding a losing hand. Trying to play this alone might just backfire in a big way. So in the end, if everyone starts playing this tariff game, the US could very well find itself isolated, while other nations get creative with their economic retaliation—reducing tariffs amongst each other, building alliances, or finding alternative markets to sell their goods. It’d end up being a lose-lose situation for the US as it gets boxed in from all sides.
Yup and in particular China will get stronger. This is a gift to China and the fact of China retaliating to US another gift. Trump this time bit off more than he can chew.
Exactly, and I gave a long rant about it too, which you can find it here: Trump's Tariffs will only empower China https://www.elitetrader.com/et/threads/trumps-tariffs-will-only-empower-china.383918/
All bullies finally meet their match and get thrashed. The time for America's demise has begun and Trump was the agent to bring it on.
