Utterly shameful. There's no doubt Trump invited Zelenski to White House only to openly mock him in front of the camera. And all the while he wants to appear magnanimous to the world and take the credit. It's a sad day not just for theUkranians but Americans as well. I fear anti-American sentiment will go through the roof.
I'm joining the fanclub. That was a great call, @schizo. Care to let us in on what you saw? End of month rally? I know we had a few big ones last year, but most end of month days weren't anything special. Some even dumped. End of May 2024: End of August 2024: End of September 2024: So, that's 3 out of 12. September 2024 probably is most similar to yesterday as there was a sharp sell preceding that monster end of day rally. The 9 other months didn't seem like anything special to me. A few even dumped into month end.
How nice of you. Well, since you insist... So, in the clip, Trump and Vance reiterate they want to settle the matter diplomatically. Did you get that? DIPLOMATICALLY! And yet they started this peace deal without even inviting Ukraine to the table. How is that a diplomacy? And when they do finally reach out to Ukraine, they added a tiny little precondition: you need to hand over half of the profit from your natural resources. How the hell can you call that diplomacy? Finally, considering Trump being a mediator, isn't it unsettling that he would get into an argument with whom he is supposed to help negotiate? Is that the way you handle yourself diplomatically? Not only that. Just when have we ever witnessed this kind of low behavior from another POTUS in the past? No dignity, no manners, no empathy, and least of all, no love for this country but his own ambition and, especially, fame. You do realize he wants to be the center of attention for EVERY damn thing, right?
I'm confused. I thought these guys were giving you praise for your bullish bounce call (great call btw) - but your response points to what I'm pretty sure is bearish. Unless you were taking a contrarian trade approach? Just trying to make sense of it.
I'm also a bit confused, @schizo. Are you replying to my question about your call on the rally or something else? Because I think you made that call well before the press conference.
One thing that many Americans don't seem to realize today is that the US has had troops in Europe for 80 years not only out of the kindness of their heart: every Russian missile pointed at Europe is one less missile pointed at the US. Actually, it's worse. The problem was not giving up 50% of the profit from their natural resources - Zelensky had already agreed to that. The problem was twofold: 1) Trump wanted the Ukrainians to keep paying to that fund until they had reimbursed ***500%*** of the military aid they had received (again, as if weakening the Russian army was of no interest to the US), so Zelensky was asking if the US was also going to charge 500% to the Israelis; and 2) this was to be done as "payment" (ahem, shakedown) for previous military aid, with no security guarantees at all (as opposed to - at least until now - Israel, Taiwan, Japan and NATO countries).
