Missed the ideal entry at 5965 because I was too f*cking stupid and was posting to ET instead of trading lol Let's see how this one goes.
This was my personal account and I'm done with this trading BS for the week. Barely took any heat at all and just a 1 lot and still my heart felt like it was about to explode out of my chest on every uptick lol. What a mind f*ck game this trading business is. This was short against last week's low, and the profit target was the RTH opening range low. I know, it isn't supposed to be this simple, and yet this is all I do. $hit like this.
I didn't nail it. Last week's low is what nailed it. Sometime last Fall @Laissez Faire told me that Ninjatrader had indicators to paint the previous day's and week's highs and lows on your chart for you and since I started using them it has really helped me, especially with the ES. Here is how my chart looks if you zoom out. The thicker lines are the previous week's high and low, with the high in yellow and the low in white. The thinner lines are the previous day's high and low, again yellow for the high and white for the low. The red line is yesterday's close. I type the current day of the week at the bottom of my chart so I make sure to look at the right day when I look up a news calendar to see what time the big boys have an excuse to mess with us little guys. If you're trading the ES and you're not plotting these levels on your chart, I feel as though you are trading blind. I don't mean to criticize how anyone else trades. I feel that even if you're using indicators like moving averages or overbought-oversold indicators that having an awareness of these levels can only help you trade your system more effectively. The only other levels I draw are by hand. I'll draw the overnight high and low by hand. I had them on here, but once price broke the range just before the open I deleted those levels.
You were not the only one doing this stupid sh*t. Being in this game for almost two decades now, I still make the same kind of mistakes now and then. My suggestion is either turn it off or scalping it from ideal entries if you're a good scalper. There is always a better trade for tomorrow.
Oh man I'm not a goat at this by a long shot. Let's see if I'm still here posting W's 10 years from now. Then maybe I might earn my way into some sort of ET top 100 list.
