flat here for now Thanks for the V, bulls! From near max loss day too a very green one god bless them crazy bulls lol
Without a doubt today was my worst trading day of the month. I allowed myself to be seduced by the dragon monster known as NQ. A profit for the day, and far from my lowest profit. But my trading was . I really must stick to the ES. I don't even want to show my tradovate chart with the trades because it really is awful. Net was just under +25 NQ points. But if I were to grade myself for the day I'd give myself a big fat red F Global sim mode engaged. Next week is a new week and a new month. I need to get my head outta my ass and back in the game.
The thing known as QQQ can legitimately hit 500 next week. Once it breaks 487, there's nothing to stop it from 500, only theta is the risk, but looks like it has the juice with EOM and then the beginning on next month.
My poor trading was due to trading an unfamiliar contract that I know has given me the heebie jeebies in the past. I find it hard to hold NQ for target. I move trail my stop too soon and too close. If I could trade the NQ with the same emotional stability I have when I trade the ES, today would have been a $3000 day. And you are right, only blind bears should be surprised today.
I don't know what your question is, @Picaso . I gave the unvarnished truth. I allowed myself to be seduced by the "quick and easy" ticks offered by the NQ, and I followed no plan or strategy. Trading rules? Out the window. I didn't need no stinkin rules. I'm very disappointed in myself today. I know better. I know myself better. ES gave no less than four entries according to my plan, and each was good for my +5 point target. I took none of them as I was battling to master the NQ lol The NQ masters me. I don't master the NQ.
There's definite correlation between es & nq, but nq being a tech stock runs slightly harder to upside when up and harder to downside when down. I swing trade NQ via a semiconductor ETF on the ASX, which is again slightly more volatile than NQ but still correlated. NQ 4 hourly bars red, ES in black.
