NQ struggling up here with its slow motion breakout. Probably tiring to be holding up the entire market.
Going to be greedy on that one? I can see a weak dip to 4133 before moving to 4150, but I'm far from certain today. Maybe the dip already completed. Rolling over for a new LOD appears less likely to happen.
Yes. The general problem in low volatility markets is that it can be very hard to recover from losses. With the volatility we've had over the last two years it's no problem to take a few losses in a row and you'll easily recover on your next winner or two. You ever tested your algorithm on NQ? I suspect this is only a temporary pause, but if volatility should stay permanently low for a while I'll have to consider NQ and even energy products.
No, I've never tested it on NQ. I've tested it on CL, but with limited results. ES and NQ are too correlated for my taste. Losses from high volatility periods are hard to recover during periods of low volatility. The reverse is also true. Losses from low volatility periods are easy to recover during periods of high volatility. Volatility was also very low a couple of years ago (pre-covid), and for an extended period of time. I don't have stats to support that cause I don't keep track of them, but guys who were trading at that time can confirm.
