  1. I got whipped around today. Sure fooled me a few times.

  2. Op-ex today. I forgot. Could be a factor today for sure.

  3. Only a 23 point range, but feels like more, doesn't it?

FBO above the HOD. Now, an FBO below the LOD. Rangebound!

After that morning move off the LOD, I just don't have the guts to short this.

Longed 40 with a stop below the LOD. If I get lucky, I'll add above 50 or so.

  4. Stop at B/E + 1 tick. Waiting a bit to see what happens here. I'm in drawdown, so I need a biggie today.

Looking to add to this at some point, but need to get a better sense of what's going on first. So far today, I have not been getting it right at all. It happens...

Maybe add a few on a breakout of the HOD should it happen.

Hint: reverse your position every 30 minutes. :D

Me and my gutfeeling - with it’s negative EV - would think we will go up more and test the peak from mid August -4300 in the next two weeks. Positioned for that anyway.
    From then maybe down

  7. I did that today in reverse and got chopped up all over the place.

With op-ex today, we might be locked in this range.

Still holding long from 40 and hoping for the best. Yes, that's my strategy for the remainder of the day. Hope. :)

I can see this going to 4175. No sell off today, I think.

  8. FWIW and I have no clue if these have any connection/correlation, but DAX and FTSE are both trading pretty close to ATHs (still space to go to test stops above ATH) and I don't know about Euro, but there WILL be QE continuation in the UK, otherwise, the ship will sink quicker than Titanic. So SPX will likely to head up to 4200 or even 4300 before any meaningful correction IMHO.

Hopefully, the potential double bottom at the 4136 zone will be the foundation of the move out of the range.

  9. Looks like market makers want this to close around 4150 today. 2nd smallest range so far this year. Normally, I would think this day would have traded higher by now, but it seems like that may not be happening today.

I'm curious if options expiration today could explain the strong bid which came in below yesterday's low and if we would have sold off otherwise?

Those 3 consecutive 30-minute bars in sequence off the Open is a fairly uncommon pattern, I think.

We trade 0TE options these days. Does the monthly op-ex even matter to the market these days?
