Thanks. I basically take out all the profits whenever they come. That way I don't feel the temptation to risk the lot. I would have gone bust ages ago for sure if I ever started doing that.
Dip and rip...I've added to my boat as I have lots of cushion from entry. Currently down a stick. Disclaimer--- I have no idea what I'm doing.
What you mean specifically? You take them out of your account? Nobody here knows what they're doing...
Yeah I keep a small float in the account and just use that to open positions. As soon as I close profits down, I take the excess out.
Last time before the Fed minute, I bought 5 CALL and 5 PUT options of SPY at the same price level, each costed about the same (5X$500=$2500) and I expected a big swing in one direction. So the result was the CALL option came to zero, but the PUT was worth at $7500, so a gain of $2500 (deduct the cost $2500 and the loss of call option $2500). This strategy works only when there is a huge swing of the price.
I've spoken with a few who do the same. With my piker account I want to build it to a more comfortable size before I start skimming it.
10yr yield down about 20 basis points in last 20 minutes though still comfortably within the day's range.
