Would be surprised if we don’t print 3650 overnight. Further surprised if that holds. We’re at the RTH Week Low here at 61.50. I don’t think it will hold. Schizo’s 3600 looks well within bounds. Tomorrow is Op-Ex, though. That could surely influence things in interesting ways.
How have you been doing this week? I hope you didn't hold on to that short for too long during Monday and or going into Tuesday.
One thing to note is that globex usually reacts sporadically once the Asian session kicks in, but it's been pretty tame tonight, trading only within 7 point range. Maybe a problem down the road, or maybe not. Guess we'll just have to see. BTW I'm pretty sure we'll print 3650 tonight. We're already at 3655.
Another good spot to jump in, short @ 63.75 Been adding shorts all throughout this afternoon. The average price now stands at 3678.
As of this time stamp, you are 10 points in profit! GAH! GTFO with the monies! Don't be a swingtrader like me on OP-EX day!
Interesting, never heard that before. I do keep an eye on the opening range which is considered the first 30 minutes of trading, at least according to most information i found and have found those levels to be useful from to time to time. This week we have had some beautiful confirmations and rejections around those opening range levels. I'll take a look at the IB tomorrow to see if the additional 30 minutes add any value for me.
It is merely an Opening Range. Here is quick search result talking about ORB (Opening Range Breakout) trades. https://www.elearnmarkets.com/blog/how-to-trade-opening-range-breakouts/ Elsewhere in ET, there is (at least) one thread about the ACD system, I think created by Marc Fisher but maybe not, that also uses the OR (Opening range). The term "ACD" is too short to do an ET search, so without other keywords... Tim Ord is another name that comes to mind regarding OR trades. Again, I could be mistaken. Tim Ord authored a book or two.
