I am going to stay out for today. Missed the move up overnight and since we are already up 100 points i am not convinced we can go that much higher today, although it certainly is a possibility, i am just not willing to risk it. This kind of action overnight doesn't fit well with my trading style.
Can you believe I was long from the Globex open @ 3597 and stopped out with a trailing stop for a lousy 10 points profit overnight playing it safe? One of these days I want to capture a real biggie with some size. Not sure when I'll get another opportunity as good and clean as this one again. Lots of ground to cover to the upside if we get another rally. Generally, I find it much easier to stay in a trade on the long side.
As long as profit was in line with your general expectation, all is well, you are just being greedy now
Its like sometimes when I'm in tune with the market, when I get in the groove... its like here he comes... he steps on my post, and it just kinda messes up my mojo. I'm really not trying to be a dick... its just... annoying when I'm being serious and sharing on this thread when I have that certain feeling.
I only knew the entry was golden. The rest is out of my control, although 3650 looked like an easy target. Had plenty of 10-20 unrealized go back to B/E over the last few weeks, so I'm back to banking profits. But when you get an entry as golden as that from a bigger support zone and it looks like up is the direction, then one should hold. Next time. Same. Just have to wait for a pullback now, IMO. Better opportunities for tomorrow if not. This could be a strong up week if this gets legs. I think @Overnight said there's not much news to move the markets this week, so that sounds like as good a week as any to rally.
Options expiration is coming up and rumours are flying around that the FED will pause hiking rates next time. On top of this we are due for a flipping good retracement.
I like him for this quality. Like a terrier that won't shut up, but it is what it is, and useful at times. I also appreciate your insights. Really makes me think about what I'm not seeing.
