Oh, c'mon, lighten up. Traders get lucky all the time. You also are lucky holding your shorts from last week.
Last week lol. Not even from last hour. Almost always start a new day with a clean slate. Anyway I believe only in probabilities, and not that silly word luck. And that the trader on the other side of me ... never lightens up. Why should I?
Man, everyone knows you always go short. Anyway, whether it's luck or skill, ending the trade in the green is always something to celebrate. Plus, you underestimate the importance of luck in trading.
There is only good (accurate) analysis and bad (not accurate) analysis. However, the more analysis you do, the luckier you will become.
SunTrader recommending that people follow the trend is awesome info to pass along to people. It straight away increases the long term chances of success overall. Going against the trend and relying on luck creates bad habits. Having said that, I think going long in that particular situation was the only sensible choice because even though the trend was going down, things were getting really oversold, and that would have been a poor entry point even when following the trend.
Plan to open more shorts on March contracts. I think there will be a mini Christmas bounce at some point, now I plan to trade very tight range, +/- 10 points in and out.
