The nature of the work itself was part of the secret as well. I found a very good mentor early on who taught me not only a solid framework for understanding, qualifying, and quantifying price action, but more importantly, how to teach myself by stressing the importance of careful observation of price behavior in the absence of trading. I spent many sessions bell to bell, not trading at all, or even thinking about trading, just watching every tick. You can learn an awful lot about price behavior doing that that no one can teach you with a book, or class, or forum post. It also helps, my mentor once said, if you have a set of balls.
avg long 87.25 two point stop ... 90.50 first scale out Also long bonds at 148.8 looking for 8 ticks ... 2 tick stop Flat ES still in bonds ... lol just bought ES again 85.50 things happening fast all of a sudden
For journal integrity purposes always assume a 2 point stop if it isn't mentioned. 88.50 first scale out on the 85.50's but with no trend I will exit based on the DOM if it calls for it.
