I don`t mind this staying range bound at all... the longer we stay in range the more money one can print as one is familiar with the behavior of the range.... Not so sure that there is a catalyst to propel us North... TSLA last shout outside of Covid vaccine , that will never happen, it has to mutate & kill itself as do all viruses.....
Thank you for your answer. Sharing knowledge is gold. All techniques you mentioned rely on chart analysis. So does chart analysis alone work for you well to predict ES ?
completely agree. I'd rather this stay rangebound as well. The straight up trending PA causes volatility contraction and less opportunity to capture decent sized moves.
First of all, I am not the most experienced nor profitable trader here so not sure how relevant my answer will be to you. I just mentioned a couple of things that came to mind but I indeed did not mention indicators or any other 'tool', probably because I don't use those myself. I started out by studying and testing the most common indicators (StochRSI, RSI, MACD, ...) but never succeeded in finding a consistantly profitable strategy after fees. I am not saying indicators or order flow for example don't work, I am quite sure others are successful with them but somehow I have better results keeping it simple and focussing on the chart.
Never saw any benefit to stochs, Macd or even BBs or keltner channels... Price action is where it’s at... Guys on my desk all used macd & would swear by it but could never understand it... price would always turn up or down well before macd would ... lagging indicator that was always after the fact!
MACD with the right parameters can at least give you the closest direction...easily manipulated to catch you on the wrong side,,,gotta be nimble
Looking like Globex session is gonna rip this up into the 80's. I'd like to get long, but I won't initial a buy order in the upper 1/3 of this pullback.
