You know as the the magic pencil goes, this level I picked out Sunday night sure has proven to a magnet this week if I do say so myself.

Edit: there should be some action tonight, if it starts heading up, yal'll might wanna jump on that train for a bit. Not saying its gonna stay up, but it sure looks like it might run. My guess is however, when the dust settle's tonight, it'll be close to where its at now maybe a little higher. Still early though, I'll check back in a few hours.

I attempt to do that every day... more precisely, I target for 100% of the RTH linear H/L range... 1x of RTH ATR. Of course, it does not happen every day. And some days are better than 1x ATR too!!

By my yardstick, today fell short. Only captured about 76% of RTH range. My AVERAGE across all the indexes is just over 60%. So today was good on that metric. It's on a per contract basis btw.

I usually do not trade ES (or MES). Today I woke up at 5am , looked at stuff, and said ES it is! Played single contract only, on 5min chart. Both aspects outside of my norm of minimum 3 contracts and a 2 or 3 min chart. The majority of my signals come from volume, and about 50% of my trades are exit/reverse versus exit/wait. The 5min chart is what I cut my teeth on regarding volume. The big reversal trade for me today was the 8:20a (pst) bar... nailed the initial drop, and reversed on that 8:20 bar. Took only a few more trades after.

And tomorrow is another day: And I get to do it all again! No matter which way the wind blows.

Burning barns not necessary, but the bigger the RTH ATR, the better!!

  4. I was trying to hit the quote function and for it would not allow me to copy your post. I see now you must have hit the enter on your edit as I was attempting to reply. The "train" analogy is quite apropos as I was going to say that 3167 is but a stop along the way for this Northbound train as it continues to pick up traders and run over short sellers on its way to fill the February 21 gap at 3328 based on the March emini contract. We have GOOGL $1500+ and AMZN $3000+ and TSLA traded above $1400. Where does it all end? At the top, my friends, at the very top.

May I ask if you ever mention real time trade entries and exists here in this journal or elsewhere on Elitetrader.com, or do you just post imaginary end of day equity runs? Perhaps I missed where you posted your trade(s) today? If so, my apologies, and I would appreciate it if you would be so kind as to provide me the link back to your posts. Thanks in advance.

  6. Sounds like I struck a nerve? I take it you posted no actual entries or exits then? I haven't posted any myself other than a few general mentions, but then again, I haven't made any claims either.

No nerve. I've been around ET long enough to know the different types of posters. I have no interest in "documenting" my trading on a public forum so some anonymous member will think "wow". I get the same result making imaginary claims, and in the process weed out a few of the more anal posters and posers. Have a good night. I'm off to Uber so I can pay my electric bill.

  8. I see that, and it was the surprisingly easy to impress crowd that prompted me to post.

27.5 handles isn`t exactly an outrages claim & very attainable in a market like today... certainly not one to exaggerate about.... I`d give him the benefit of the doubt....

  10. I agree with you with respect to the 27.50 being well within the realm of possibility. You will forgive me that in my short time here on this forum I seem to have found many reasons to doubt what I am I am reading. There are few thus far to whom I am willing to extend that benefit. You, Sir, are one of them.
