That was when coronavirus cases were appearing in Iran, Italy, South Korea and lebanon..the bat was out of the bag
I fear that's the price for a lack of two way price discovery (especially past few weeks) with lots of unfilled gaps, algos chasing and lifting offers, etc...Pretty much same way its traded for a number of years really, nothing new.
Out for +4.65 @ 1770 shares. Probably early but I'm good with it. Looking for higher levels to re-apply.
Thanks EON. I called the CME and they internally have moved to September last night for purpose of circuit breakers and settlement. However, the most active month is still June. When will the volume move to September ? There is no hard-and-fast rule. It could stay in June until next Monday....maybe. You gotta watch the volume to make a determination. Oh, how I hate rollovers !
Hey Sys (been wanting to type that )... Today IS the first day of rollover. Volume will begin to shift to the "U" contracts. Software and data vendors handle the rollover differently, sometimes giving options to the user. In general, rollover is not a big deal, at least not procedurally. Here's what to do... 1) Always adhere to broker/fcm advisories regarding when to rollover. There have been times brokers/fcms have requested or required trading new positions in the new contract only. 2) Begin trading the new contract when volume is split at least 50/50 between the old and new contracts. And in all cases, switch to the new contract no later than the Monday following the initial rollover date.
So I switched to the current contract on Monday March 15th - You should see Friday be about equal volume and volume definitely switch on Monday before open.
