Why are futures being halted in after hrs at 3.8% now ? Happened last night . I put order at 2388 to buy and it’s not accepting the order . It accepts at 2392 which is about 3.8% down
All mortality rates are under 6%. What's the big deal ? I could see the concern if the mortality rates were 50% or more. Could this be overblown ?
It is the speed of the spread that is the issue. Kinda like the speed of the ES futures volatility... social distancing and closures are the Covid-19 circuit breakers. This thing needs circuit breakers or it will get out of control very fast. momentum begets momentum like in trading. We need some Covid-19 mean reversion. Right now, the spread is parabolic.
Long here at 2408.00 ---Will continue to hold if limit down or if signal to get out occurs before. Edit---I've bought this with the intent on having it run up and possibly have to bounce off of limit down first.
I bet that if everyone, in any given season, were "tested" for the flu, whether they were showing symptoms or not, would have the same if not more numbers as this Covid. But we just don't do that. And as far as the whole "Well, we don't have a vaccine for Covid!" argument goes... How many millions of people eschew their flu vaccine each year? Hmm? So all the people who don't bother getting the flu vaccine each season are just as responsible for the deaths of other people like the elderly and immune-compromised patients, as are the people who don't "self-quarantine" with Covid. It's a wash.
Anyone know why futures are limit down or up at 3.8% and not the normal 5%? Happened last night also on limit up
