I raised my stop earlier to 2673.00 and then went off to do other things and I come back and find that we came within .25 pt of my limit sell?? Now I am forced to just hold and either be stopped or get my sell order filled if we rally.---not good-----Current pricing 2676.75.

Out at 2677.50 for gain of 25.75 pts.

Disappointing results to say the least due to the fact that my target sell was .25 higher than the high. I was fairly certain that 2690 would print (still may) --- that will teach me to leave the computer for a while. I gave up 12 points in potential profit.

Uptrend continues here. It will be interesting to see in the coming days if a reversal is tried in this area as we are closing very near the cash downtrend line. I continue long bias at the moment.

  8. What i would do is to sell one half when I see a topping out pattern. Hold the other half for the next leg up, should i harbor that hope.

Looking ahead - ES has just about reached my 2700-2720 resistance zone. We've been very strong since Xmas but the fact is that all major equity corrections since 2009 have seen a significant retest of the lows after an interim high. Crude has been moving up right along with stocks but the story is the same there, going back to the 80s I can't see a single major bottom that didn't have either a clear retest of the prior low, or multiple pushes down.

So, I think the baseline expectation has to be that the next few weeks will see us trace out some sort of a top, with another major selloff commencing in late Feb or early March.
