Well, Roughly 90 minutes before the open ... It is very visible in the charts even without the exact time. You even mentioned the spike yourself ... Edit: 104 minutes before the open to be precise.
This one wasn't a tweet but a comment by a senior administration official . He said Trump administration is absolutely not considering interim China deal.
Everything is now probably depending on how Trump reacts, and we all know he likes to talk the markets up.
for me it is all about probability and how PA dictates, for me i don't see any reason to be bearish as it would be counter trend for me, for me two questions are from now on will price be restricted at 16.75 or will it break the previous high, i need to calculate the range for buy so i don't take a big loss if i am wrong, if wrong stop loss would take care of it. But i don't see any reason to be bear, but sometimes if the opposing forces (bears) are strong then PA has to give in but i generally let my stop loss take me out rather than wait for price to correct.
I am not saying you need to be bearish, i am saying you need to be cautious when news like this is coming out and you are long. Which doesn't mean long is wrong ... It just means it is nothing but a guess right now, nothing but 50/50 since PA doesn't matter it Trump says he doesn't want to make a deal with China. (Which probably isn't going to happen, since Trump only wants the markets to go up).
