It's up to you of course to call a gap as you see it. I am just saying, it's an insignificant anomaly because pricing during the 2 days overlaps.
OK, the close was 2704 and next day LOWEST was 2713.7. That is almost 10 points, hardly insignificant and didn't I predict we would close it?? Yes I would call 10 points a gap. 1-2 sure, nobody cares but the next day it actually opened like 15-17 points higher and never came closer than 10 points to closing the gap. Source: I am a gap expert.
Those price points were all explored during the trading activity of 2/22, thus there was no gap. A gap occurs when pricing areas between the low of one day and the high of the other do not have activity.
If you talk about futures, but who cares about the futures when cash gap is the one that attracts price? Just like the last 12 hours, just because we closed the gap overnight that didn't mean the cash wouldn't want to do it too in RTH. Anyhow you never admit you are wrong so let's just move on...
