So now we'll be under attack for being 1%'ers AND Elite Traders! 2017 will be fun and interesting. Happy New Year!!
1 million trades? if he made 400 trades a day, it takes 10 years; if 100 trades, then it is 40 years. How many trades you think you can do humanly possible by manual clicking (no automation) in a day? Just curious.
If a trader was to use the DOM, and had capability of attaching a take (and a stop if used) to the entry with a single click, I think the trader could do about 5 trades a minute. The key to scalping is the take(and hard stop offset if used)is just a few ticks, and then do it again. In fact, that isn't the key, it is scalping. For most, that requires a mind adjustment to even comprehend that that can make oodles of profit, let alone execute such a plan. With (some) of todays software, DOM trading can be preset... you can load up the ladders on either side and away you go. Is that automation? Not if the trader designs and "enters" the presets. And if presets can be prepared and ladders populated with a single click, so be it. The article I read talked about 1M trades, I remember that. It is more appropriate, at least for me, if that was number of contracts... trade 1M contracts over some period of time and some number of trades. As long as the annual analysis reveals a single digit number of ticks average profit from all trades, wins and losses, and as long as a small number multiplied by a large number equals a large number, you're golden!!
It makes more sense for 1 million contracts. It is feasible to trade 100 ES contracts at a time and multiple scalping will easily get you a couple thousand a day.
