---Wed 12/28 late afternoon short 2245.00. Initial stop 2275.00 ---Thurs 12/29 midday I remain short on the swing trade with same stop. Price is currently 2241.75 ---Fri 12/30 late morning Price currently 2238.75. I remain short.
Assuming SPY will close in red today, there should be a lower low ahead after 3 red days. Besides, there have been 5 consecutive open up gaps, which a sixth one for tomorrow is rare. Therefore, I think it's safer to bet on the SHORT side than the LONG side today.
Magna , if you would close this thread at years end please and we'll move over to the ES-Journal 2017 thread at that time. Thank you.
How many points did u accumulate in this thread? Since you make it all public would you mind sharing your 2016 total?
Thank you B1S2, for that detail. What I find interesting, and this is not meant negatively, is this... like many other traders, at least here on ET, and myself included, annual figures reveal average profits per trade of single digit ticks. 99.25 x 50 = 4963 tot profit 4963 / 71 tot trades = 70 avg profit in dollars per trade 70 / 12.50 value per (ES) tick = 6 ticks average profit per trade, adjust if necessary for Net ticks per trade. Also, in your case that is blended, as you do swing and intraday trading. I recall reading a while back in some publication I think, a trader talking about doing 1 million trades (over some time period), and netting over 5M dollars. See above!!! Prosperous trading to you in the New Year!!
Correct--on a per contract basis. Here's the story though-- These results (and your comments concerning your avg profits) mean that we are in the top 5% of traders worldwide.
71 trades for the year seems light for you, I've only been following for a bit but it seems you average a few trades a day??
